Custom doors for cigar humidors and specialty storage cabinets
This category is a cigar and specialty storage cabinet door assembly, not a beverage-cooler leaf and not a vending door. The job is different. A drink merchandiser sells through ice-cold glass. A humidor and a specialty vault must hold humidity, cut UV, close quietly, and look like furniture in a lounge, club, or private office. We build the full leaf to your cabinet: insulated or laminated glass, frame, humidity-rated gasket, hinges, lock, and handle. Production is custom. You send the opening or a sample door; we send a first article, then the lot.
OEM buyers searching for a cigar cabinet door, a humidor glass door assembly, or a custom specialty storage door use this line when the body is already tooled and the leaf must seal at the rebate. It is not a wine and beverage cooler door and not a smart vending door assembly. Those run colder and brighter. This leaf is specified for stable climate, UV, and a lounge-grade finish. Hardware and glass IGUs can be quoted separately from door hardware if your frame is already in-house.
Why a cigar / specialty door is not a drink-cooler door
Cigars keep best in a narrow band — commonly about 16–20 °C and 65–72% relative humidity — with almost no UV. Tea, watches, leather, instruments, and museum objects have their own bands, but they share the same door problem: leaky gaskets dry the box, and clear shop glass ages the contents. The assembly therefore leads with seal and light, not with freezer U-value. A magnetic gasket sized for a climate cabinet, a true rebate, and a sealed glass edge matter more than a triple-pane freezer stack. UV-filter or laminated glass protects wrappers and labels. Extra-clear glass is only for display humidors where the client accepts more light and we add a UV interlayer or a tint.
A humidor is a humidity-controlled box. The door is half of that box. If the leaf warps, if the gasket takes a set, or if the lock pulls one corner off the frame, the hygrometer will drift no matter how good the humidifier is. That is why we sell an assembly and why we ask for the cabinet material (MDF, plywood, metal, Spanish cedar) before we pick hinge type and gasket compound. See also relative humidity: a pretty glass door that leaks 3 mm at the latch is not a specialty door.
Custom production — what we freeze on the PO
Opening and swing. Width, height, rebate depth, LHH or RHH, single or paired doors, inset or overlay. Walk-in cigar rooms and reach-in cabinets do not share the same hinge.
Glass. Typical display humidor: tempered or laminated IGU, UV filter, optional Low-E, grey/bronze tint, or extra-clear with UV interlayer. Solid insulated metal or wood-clad doors for dark storage and gun/collectible vaults — say so; that is still this category, not a cooler door.
Frame and interior face. Slim black or bronze aluminum, stainless, solid wood, or wood-clad metal. Optional Spanish-cedar veneer or slats on the inner leaf so the door participates in humidity buffering. Silk-screen frit for a frameless black edge on lounge walls.
Hardware. Soft-close or hold-open hinges, humidity-stable magnetic gasket, cam lock, electronic lock, or furniture-style display lock, recessed or leather-wrap handle, optional reed switch for “door open” to a climate controller. No slam springs that shock the hygrometer.
Process. Drawing or sample → glass and gasket spec → first-article assembly → seal and diagonal check → your hang-test on the cabinet → batch. MOQ follows frit, wood species, and lock pocket, not a fake catalog size. We will not “close enough” a beverage-cooler leaf into a humidor rebate.
Where these assemblies go
Upright and countertop cigar cabinets, lounge cigar walls, dual-zone cigar-and-wine columns (cigar leaf on the humid side only), tea and pu-erh cabinets, watch and leather vaults, museum and archive showcases, and other climate-controlled specialty stores. Indoor, conditioned rooms are the default. If the cabinet sits in a sun-facing lobby, we up-spec UV and tint before we talk about chrome handles.

How to write the custom PO
State: custom cigar / specialty cabinet door assembly; UV glass or solid leaf; humidity gasket; frame finish; lock; opening size; left/right qty. Attach the rebate drawing. Do not write “beverage cooler door” or “vending IGU.” A cold merchandiser gasket will dry a humidor.
Questions OEM buyers ask
Can you copy our existing humidor door?
Yes. One sample leaf or a full rebate/hinge/lock pack is enough to reverse-build a matching assembly. We do not guess cedar thickness or gasket durometer from a photo alone.
Glass or solid?
Glass for display humidors and lounge walls. Solid or wood-clad for dark aging rooms and high-value vaults. Both are this category if the seal and hinge are built for climate storage.
Will this door keep 70% RH by itself?
No door humidifies. The assembly must not leak. The cabinet still needs a controlled humidifier and a tight body. We design the leaf so it is not the leak path.
Spanish cedar on the door?
Optional on the inner face. Confirm species and finish so oils and adhesives do not off-gas into the box.
Sample path?
One paid first article, hang-test on your cabinet with a hygrometer overnight, then production. Wood and frit jobs always go through that sample. Standard black aluminum UV-glass leaves move faster once the opening is frozen.
